Even in the face of the announcement that Halo 2 (and the rest of the original Xbox games) will no longer be playable online through Xbox LIVE after April 15th, “avid” multiplayer gamers continue to rake in the frags in the game, and will continue to do so until Microsoft pull the plug on the aging service.
So in an effort to extend a peace-offering to these “loyal” online Halo 2 players for their tireless gaming sessions, Microsoft has sent out e-mails to select gamers detailing a list of rewards that they will be given access to in the coming months.
These players will be given three months of free Xbox LIVE Gold membership and 400 MS Points to spend on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, but chief amongst the rewards is an invitation to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, allowing them to skip the prerequisite need to own Halo 3: ODST to get the invite.
