It seems Spider-Man is leaving his multi-coloured garb behind in his next videogame outing, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, for more dreary, steam punk attire… well, at least in one dimension of the game, that is.
In the other dimension, he’ll be the regular, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man we all know and… know.
In total, there are four dimensions through which ‘ole Spidey will be travelling in Shattered Dimensions, each themed with its own specific Marvel universe. These different dimensions have been caused by a rift in time and space by an artefact called the ‘Tablet of Order and Chaos’ (a suitable name), which our hero needs to find and in order to restore things to normal.
So far, two dimensions have been revealed – Noir and Amazing – and the first trailer below shows off some gameplay from these two settings. It’s looking pretty dang fantastic.
Also, first-person punching in a Spider-Man game? Yes please!
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is set to release on Xbox, PS3 and Wii in September this year, while a DS version is also planned.
Keep an eye on the game’s official website (as well as El33tonline, obvious) to find out what the other two dimensions (one of which is rumoured to be Spider-Man 2099) may be.
