Lost Planet 2 release date moves up one week, new multiplayer demo in the works

This is unusual, but not unwelcome – Capcom has announced that the release date for Lost Planet 2 has been moved up by one week, and is now set to release on May 11th as opposed to the previously announced date of May 18th, while a PC version of the game is slated for the Fall of this year.

Not only that, but a new multiplayer demo has been announced, and will become available on April 21st on Xbox LIVE and April 22nd on PlayStation Network, featuring the ‘Turbulent Jungle’ map from the online versus mode of the game, and will include full chat support and stat tracking.

If you want a sneak peek of the demo from March 31st, however, you’ll need to keep an eye on the Capcom-Unity blog to net yourself a voucher code for early access. You can do that over here.

Also, if you download and play the demo prior to the release of the full game, you’ll be rewarded with immediate access to the Machine Gun SP in-game item, which apparently “fires three round bursts,” which I’m guessing sounds impressive.
