2K Games has announced that Mafia II is set to release in late August around the world on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, as the publisher finally attaches a solid release date to the open-world 1940’s action adventure mobster game following a string of release window delays.
Mafia II follows the story of “beaten down” Italian-American, Vito, the son of a poor immigrant.
Vito is looking for opportunities to escape his impoverished life with his lifelong friend, Joe, which leads the pair into the underworld of organised crime, romanticised by Vito with dreams of becoming a ‘made man’ in the Mafia, as he and Joe work to prove themselves to ‘the family.’
“However, the two quickly realize that life as a wise guy isn’t quite as glamorous as it seems.”
Isn’t that always the way…
Mafia II will release in North America on August 24th and internationally on August 27th.
