Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the company’s fifth BlizzCon gaming convention is all set to take place at the end of the year, running from Friday October 22nd to Saturday October 23rd, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, to celebrate all things Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo related.
CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime commented:
“BlizzCon offers us a great opportunity to meet with our players and share our enthusiasm for gaming with one of the most passionate communities in the world. We’re looking forward to providing another great show filled with entertainment, competition, and the latest information about Blizzard Entertainment games.”
BlizzCon 2010 aims to offer attendees the following range of activities during the event:
- Hands-on play time with upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games
- Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers
- Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
- Community contests with great prizes
- Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes
- More exciting activities and attractions to be announced
The press release warns that tickets to last year’s BlizzCon event sold out within minutes of becoming available, so if you intend attending this year’s event, it would be wise to keep an eye on the official BlizzCon website closer to the time in order to find out about ticket availability.
