Classic looking Sonic the Hedgehog 4 screenshots released
A batch of new screenshots has been released for SEGA’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, featuring none other (and no other) than the publisher’s blue speedster.
The shots are very… classic, shall we say? Yes. It sure does look like a 2D Sonic game, as the hedgehog runs and loops his way around green and gold levels collecting rings and bumping into enemies.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is expected to release this Summer on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation Network and WiiWare, but these new screenshots have already been released, so head on down below to eyeball ‘em:

Comments:
Im really happy sonic is going bk to his 2D roots but i just wish the graphics were a little more up to date and next gen looking
I tried newer 2D Sonic games on the GameBoy and DS. The games were relatively unplayable as sonic was too large on screen. Once you got up to speed there was not enough distance ahead to react. Hope they have learnt from their mistakes or this one will bomb as well.
Hmm, or perhaps they should make it like LBP where the faster you go the further away from sonic the camera moves.
