Telltale Games reveal Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse for PSN, pre-order incentive plus debut trailer and screenshots revealed

Telltale Games (the developer who makes “awesome episodic adventure games” including Tales of Monkey Island, Strong Bad and Wallace & Gromit) have revealed their plans to launch a game on the PS3 for the first time. That game will be Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse and the first episode of the third season of this popular series will be arriving on the PlayStation Network on the 15th of April (it will also be coming to the PC and Mac).

The well known rabbit/dog detective duo will be embarking on yet another “unhinged adventure,” and even better news is that you can pre-order the game for the first time on the PlayStation Store. If you pre-order the five-episode comedy saga (the first episode is titled The Penal Zone), starting from the 18th of March, you will pay $29.99 (normal price $34.99) until the game launches on the PlayStation Network.

Here’s a little more about the game: “In Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, Max has been bestowed with a set of powerful psychic abilities from an unusual ancient source that he’ll wield against the strongest and strangest foes the Freelance Police have ever faced. Join gaming’s greatest dog and rabbit sleuths as they investigate the source of these powers, with manic Max exercising new and amazing abilities with each episode.”

“Max’s shape shifting, teleportation, mind reading and future sight abilities prove particularly useful as intergalactic simians, eldritch gods, under-dwellers and an arcane scholar ruthlessly hunt down those powers for their own evil ends.”
