Green Day, Harmonix, MTV Games and Reprise / Warner Bros. Records (phew) has announced that the group’s standalone videogame collaboration, Green Day: Rock Band, is set to release on June 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, with pricing structures announced for each platform.

Green Day: Rock Band aims to allow players access to the full ‘Green Day experience,’ as you “step onto the stage and into the shoes of Green Day, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band that jump-started the punk-pop revival and has continued to pave the way for American rock music into the 21st century.”

Much like The Beatles: Rock Band, Green Day: Rock Band will take players through the story and history of the band, and will feature the likenesses of each of the band members. As you progress through the career mode, you’ll gain access to the band’s media vault, where you can unlock over 100 collectible images, and more than 40 minutes of rare and unreleased video from interviews, out-takes and performances.

Green Day: Rock Band will also feature a setlist of 47 tracks (from songs like ‘American Idiot’ and ‘Brain Stew,’ to ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ and ‘Jaded’), all of which will be able to be sung in a three-part vocal harmony using the technology introduced in The Beatles: Rock Band. Not only that, but the six Green Day songs already available on the Rock Band Music Store will have added vocal harmonies, unique performance visuals, and exclusive archival material once the game releases.

All 47 songs will also be exportable to Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and even the upcoming Rock Band 3, for a fee of $9.99 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (this functionality won’t be available for the Wii version).

This latest Rock Band branded title will release simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australasia, and other territories, on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii on June 8th, and will be fully compatible with previous Rock Band instrument controllers. The pricing structure for each version of Green Day: Rock Band is as follows:
