The first of a series of developer diaries discussing Sony’s set of PS3 Motion Controller devices (still only known as the ‘Motion Controller’) has gone up and features two of the researchers working on the hardware, Richard Marks and Anton Mikhailov, talking about the precision and capabilities that the wand-like peripherals offer, while also discussing what may be possible in the future.
The video includes some very impressive showcases of the Motion Controllers in action, as Marks and Mikhailov play around with the devices while swinging virtual swords, shooting virtual arrows, drawing on a virtual board, and generally doing some cool things in a virtual space.
