Grace Chen, Senior Manager of the PlayStation Store, recently broke the news on the US PlayStation Blog that Sony has secured digital video distribution deals with ‘all six’ of the major movie studios to begin to deliver high-definition movies through the PlayStation Network’s Video Store.
The deal includes distribution agreements with 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, and will allow users of the Video Store in the US to purchase and download high-definition movies from these studios to own.
Immediate offerings include movies such as This Is It, 2012, The Hangover, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Zombieland, Inglourious Basterds, Up and District 9.
