Modern Warfare 2 DLC dated for end of March, aims to cure ‘Mapathy’

The first set of downloadable content (DLC) for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been slapped with a solid release date, which is due to deliver a first dose of new multiplayer maps exclusively through Xbox LIVE.

If you find yourself playing Modern Warfare 2 online in a current state of despair, taking considerably less joy in your multiplayer sessions than previously, know that you aren’t alone in your struggle.

Fortunately, and according to Mapathy (a new support group set up to help Modern Warfare 2 players cope until the release of the new maps), you don’t have long to wait until the new content is released. From the group’s official site:

“Mapathy (n.) (or map-uh-thee - often expressed as, “How the hell did you know I was there?!”) is a state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months. The Mapathetic individual no longer derives pleasure from blowing up people hiding in the cockpit or on top of the crane. More than 20 million people may be at risk for Mapathy.”

The new Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps will release on March 30th, exclusive to Xbox LIVE for a period of one month, at which time PC and PS3 gamers will also get their hands on it.
