Codemasters dates F1 2010 for next-gen platforms, releases work-in-progress shots

Codemasters LogoCodemasters has announced that a new, ‘next-generation’ Formula One racing title will be releasing from its stable later this year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and to show that the publisher isn’t kidding around, it’s released two work-in-progress screenshots, finally giving the fans what they want - a true high-definition Formula One experience.

This official game of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship will feature all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the coming 2010 racing season, which means the return of the seven times World Champion Michael Schumacher, all of the new teams, and the brand new Korean International Circuit.

F1 2010 will mark the first time an official Formula One game appears on the Xbox 360, and a return to the PC after an absence of eight years. In addition to the expected game modes, such as Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and Career Mode, F1 2010 will feature an advanced damage model, a fully dynamic weather system, and an extensive multiplayer component.

F1 2010 is scheduled to release in September on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and is currently in development at Codemasters Studios Birmingham, using the EGO Game Technology Platform, which just so happened to power Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID, so we can expect the game to look and feel mighty.

Can’t wait!
