“This is a tremendous start for the Dragon Age franchise and we are extremely pleased with the great reception the game has already received from critics and fans worldwide,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. “Our team is dedicated to crafting high quality, engaging new adventures and stories in the world of Ferelden for our fans!”

BioWare has released two add-on packs for the game so far, Warden’s Keep and Return to Ostagar, with an upcoming expansion pack, Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening, set to launch on the 16th of March.

Awakening is set following the events of the game and sees players stepping into the shoes of a Grey Warden Commander who has been tasked with rebuilding the order of Grey Wardens and uncovering how the darkspawn have survived after the Archdemon was slayed. Players can choose to import their character from the game or start out as a new Grey Warden from the land of Orlais.

Dragon Age: Origins is available now for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Read our review of the game or check out our previous coverage to find out more.
