February has been another bumper month as far as new game releases go. Once again we’ve been spoilt for choice with Bioshock 2, MAG and MX vs ATV Reflex coming out this month. This week also saw the release of Heavy Rain while Aliens vs Predator and White Knight Chronicles hit shelves across South Africa today.

So more than likely you’re feeling the pinch this month, and with other great titles on the horizon in March (including God of War III, Metro 2033, Final Fantasy XIII and Battlefield: Bad Company 2) that pinch will more than likely continue. But don’t despair because there are a number of great specials round and about that could save your weekend. Here’s a round-up of what El33tonline has spotted, please feel free to share any other specials you may have stumbled across with us as well.

One, two and the third is free!

First up is a fantastic promotion that Musica is currently running. It’s goes a little something like this: if you buy any two titles that are on their chart you receive a third title free! Now you can mix and match this special, meaning you could buy a CD, DVD or game, or you can go full steam ahead and buy two games and get one free.

While the games are full price, you still stand to save a whole lot if you do buy two games because you’ll get a game for free. And most of the latest releases are on the chart at the moment, including Dante’s Inferno (PS3 plus Xbox 360), Darksiders (PS3), Bioshock 2 (PS3) and Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360). You can also brush up on your God of War skills with God of War I and II (PS2), or catch up on a few older but still great titles including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC), The Sims 3 (PC), FIFA 10 (PS2), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wii), PES 2010 (Wii) and Wii Fit Plus (Wii).

The CD and DVD charts are also jam packed with the latest titles but you better hurry because this special ends on Sunday! Also be sure to check out the PS3 DualShock Wireless Controller and Buray Remote bundle which is now in stock at Musica for R899.99 (also mentioned in our last edition).

Are you a Left 4 Dead fan?

And now a quick message to our Zombie/undead loving readers – I have it on excellent authority (thanks for the tip Oltman) that Left 4 Dead 2 is currently on special at Incredible Connection for R199.99. But stock is limited so we suggest phoning ahead to check availability before rushing off and planning your weekend co-op gaming sessions.

Turning now to the online shops, both Kalahari.net and Take2.co.za are also offering a few neat specials. Make sure you browse through the list of featured games on special at Take 2, you just might find something you like tucked away in there. Keep an eye out for the clearance stickers for an even more insane bargain price. There’s also a special on new games including Colin McRae DIRT (Xbox 360 for R276) and Street Fighter IV (PS3 and Xbox 360 versions for R177), that’s practically giving it away!)

Meanwhile Kalahari are still having their Big Orange Sale and it’s well worth taking a look at their specials too. You can get 75% off selected games and although there are a lot of older titles on show there are also quite a few interesting titles tucked if you have a keen eye. There are also a number of featured games on special. Red Faction Guerrilla (PS3) and Bionic Commando (PS3) are available at the low price of R185 while SingStar Vol 3 is going for a song at R134 and the fun Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip (Wii) will set you back R184.
