SEGA and Rebellion have let the word out that a new and updated version of the PS3 multiplayer demo for their upcoming Aliens VS Predator first-person horror-fest is now available on PlayStation Network, fixing the matchmaking problems that saw some players having issues joining matches against their fellow face-eaters online.
The new demo also apparently contains additional functionality, such as the ability to create their own matches and browse for available matches to join. European Marketing Director of SEGA Europe, Gary Knight said in a statement:
“We are confident that the matchmaking issue has been fixed with this new demo and we will be monitoring community activity closely over the coming days to ensure that it has been fully resolved.
“We would like to thank the community for all of their valuable feedback and continued patience.”
Rebellion also went on to clarify why the developer chose Deathmatch for the multiplayer demo of Aliens VS Predator, as CEO and co-founder of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley explains:
“We chose Deathmatch as the mode for the demo as it’s very familiar to all FPS gamers and minimizes restrictions on players while they are getting to grips with the controls of each of the three playable species.
“We have plenty of new modes in the game and players only have to wait a matter of days before they can play them when the game launches.”
So PS3 users, if you so choose, you can go and grab the latest version of the PS3 multiplayer demo of Aliens VS Predator (the old version has been taken down), or you could wait until later this week when the full game releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on February 16th in the US, and February 19th in the UK, with South Africa getting it on the 26th of February.
