Alan Wake will not appear on PC, remains an Xbox 360 exclusive

Despite open-ended comments made by Remedy’s Sam Lake in the middle of last year regarding the possibility of Alan Wake making an appearance on the PC once the Xbox 360 version is done and dusted, it seems Microsoft has ultimately called it, as a spokesperson reveals to Strategy Informer that the psychological action thriller is a confirmed Xbox 360 exclusive:

“Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC,” said the spokesperson, “and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience ‘Alan Wake’ was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive.

“Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform.”

What do you think the chances are, dear reader, of Alan Wake making an appearance on the PC platform six to twelve months after the game has shipped on Xbox 360?

Incidentally, Alan Wake releases on Xbox 360 on May 18th in the US, and May 21st in Europe.

You can see the latest released trailer for the game, and a batch of the latest screenshots, through El33tonline’s previous coverage of Alan Wake, if you so desire.
