Kratos, undisputable ‘god’ of all things ‘war’ in the videogame world, may just see an appearance in the PlayStation 3 version of next year’s Mortal Kombat reboot as a story character, if a report on consumer site StickSkills is anything to go by.
According to the site, and after reading over the January issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, it’s being reported that God of War protagonist (and all-round furious dude) Kratos will show up in Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat reboot.
Kratos won’t be a playable character, unfortunately, but will instead appear in the story mode, and will have his own fatalities, combat moves and God of War-themed arena.
If he’s got all of his own moves, is it just a matter of time before we’re able to unlock Kratos as a playable character? Or, heaven forbid, be forced to pay in order to play as Sony’s god of war?
We’ll find out next year, with the release of the excellent-looking (and excellent-playing!) Mortal Kombat.

Comments:
There's no way they would include all that GOW material and not make him a playable character. He's a perfect fit for that type of game and the outcry from the fans would be crazy.
Unfortunately we haven't seen the source material, so we can't confirm if Kratos is playable or not... but if he's not playable straight off the bat, then he'll at least be unlockable (finish the game to unlock, or something).
But if they charge to play as Kratos...
