It was rumoured into existence before the game had even been released, but now Ubisoft has confirmed the speculation: The character of Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid franchise does indeed make an appearance in the publisher’s latest open-world action game, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.
How do you unlock the skin of this guest star? Simply by completing various tasks in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’s virtual training mode – the video below will help clue you in:
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood – Metal Gear Solid’s Raiden Skin Unlocked
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is a mighty game – be sure to read El33tonline’s review of the title to see why we think this is so.
Metal Gear Solid: Rising, on the other hand, is where you’ll next be able to get your Metal Gear Solid jollies (following the release of MGS: Peace Walker earlier this year). Rising is set to exclusively star the sword-swinging ninja assassin Raiden.
Why exactly would a Konami/Kojima Productions character make an appearance in a Ubisoft game?
The story goes that Hideo Kojima (the ‘Big Boss’ of the Metal Gear Solid franchise) was extremely impressed with the original Assassin’s Creed game and struck up a friendship with the developers working on that title, resulting in a number of cross-over appearances of both MGS and AC characters in both of the company’s games.
This unlockable Raiden skin in AC: Brotherhood is merely a continuation of that, and hopefully a neat tradition that continues into the future.
