It’s by now common knowledge that Mass Effect 2 will soon become available on PlayStation 3, following the action RPG’s lengthy exclusivity period on Xbox 360.
What isn’t commonly known is that a demo for this PS3 version of Bioware’s classic space opera title will soon appear on the PlayStation Network to give everybody a taste of this ‘new’ game.
On December 22nd, the PS3 Mass Effect 2 demo will become available on the European PlayStation Network, and the day before for US PSN users, to give gamers early access to a renewed and rejuvenated version of the title.
While EA hasn’t announced what we’ll be doing in this demo, we’re more than aware of what will be included in the full version of Mass Effect 2 when it releases on PS3 next year – tons of bonus content to fill that Blu-ray disc right up, with an interactive comic to help franchise newcomers understand the story so far, as well as all of the previously released downloadable content, such as Kasumi: Stolen Memory, Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, as well as the Blood Dragon Armour.
Even more content will be available for free over the Cerberus Network, Mass Effect’s in-game DLC solution.
PS3 gamers in Europe can expect to get their hands on the full version of Mass Effect 2 on January 21st, while those of you in North America will find it at retail on January 18th.
Did you know Mass Effect 2 came in second place in El33tonline’s recent Game of the Year competition, losing only to Red Dead Redemption? Yup, the game sure is amazing!
