Following the release of November’s NPD sales numbers, Nintendo has sent out a pre-emptive statement regarding the sales performance of its Wii and DS consoles in the US, and according to the NPD sales tracking group and Nintendo’s own internal numbers, their gaming devices sold pretty dang well this past month.
During November, the Wii sold 1.2 million units, and the DS sold 1.5 million, combining to a whopping 2.7 million units sold for Nintendo’s consoles.
From a statement by Nintendo of America’s senior director of Corporate Communications, Charlie Scibetta:
“According to our internal numbers, Nintendo sold 600,000 Wii systems during Thanksgiving Week alone, an increase of 50,000 over 2009. Holiday shoppers are obviously responding well to the great value Nintendo products offer, from our special bundles to the social fun of our games.”
Obviously!
Microsoft released its own sales numbers for Xbox 360 and games available for the console, provided to them by NPD – that company claims that their console was the top-selling game machine for November!

Comments:
Nice to see that the DS is still selling so well, those new colours that were released over the Black Friday weekend would have helped sales no doubt.
