The football mad populace comprising ‘the UK’ has this week turned out in droves to purchase SEGA’s latest management simulation title, Football Manager 2011, thus ensuring the game a place atop Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing ahead of big hitters FIFA 11 and Fable III.
This is the second PC-exclusive title to hit the No. 1 spot on the chart in 2010, following StarCraft II’s appearance earlier this year.
Despite the release of this interloper, FIFA 11 (sales down 24%) is a non-mover at No. 2 this week, but Fable III (sales down 64%) shifts from No. 1 to No. 3.
Just Dance 2 (sales down 22%) is another non-mover at No. 4, and Professor Layton and the Lost future (sales down 35%) steps up to No. 5 from No. 8 last week. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (sales up 99%) zooms up the chart from No. 13 last week, now sitting at No. 6 thanks to the release of the 25th Anniversary Red Nintendo Wii bundle, but Fallout: New Vegas (sales down 59%) tumbles to No. 7 from No. 3.
Medal of Honor (sales down 44%) keeps its chart hopes alive by remaining in the Top Ten, content with two places down to a position at No. 8 this week, as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (sales down 52%) falls to No. 9 from No. 5, and The Sims 3 (sales down 22%) moves down only one place to No. 10.
Two new titles appear this week in the form of GoldenEye 007 and James Bond 007: Blood Stone, charting at No. 13 and No. 18 respectively.
