UK Software Charts: Gran Turismo 5 outpaces the competition during week of November 27th

Gran Turismo 5 Logo

Releasing during the middle of last week, Sony and Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5 makes no mistake and hits No. 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, racking up the 6th largest ever launch week sales for a PlayStation 3 game, and improving upon the launch week sales of Gran Turismo 4 by 6%.

Unfortunately, this means that Call of Duty: Black Ops (sales down 42%) has to make room and shifts down to No.2 from the top spot last week, and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (sales down 32%) steps down to No. 3 from No. 2.

FIFA 11 (sales up 76%) is a non-mover at No. 4, as is Just Dance 2 (sales up 24%) at No. 5. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (sales up 2%), however, trips down three places to No. 6, while Wii Party (sales up 63%), Art Academy (sales up 220%) and Wii Sports Resort (sales up 1%) chart at No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.

Fallout: New Vegas (sales up 97%) rounds out the Top Ten, stepping up three places to achieve a spot on the coveted listing.

Newly released titles appear on the chart in the form of Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare at No. 14, and Michael Jackson: The Experience at No. 32.

i had GT5 for about 1 1/2 days but I traded it in for NBA Jam.. It was an AWESOME simulator but I guess I'm just not that interested in simulators..

Yeah, I'm kind of scared of GT5 for that reason. I really enjoy arcade racers (NFS: Hot Pursuit is amazing), and in the past, I've tried to convince myself I'm having fun with previous Gran Turismo games with frustrating results...

That being said, I had a blast with F1 2010 and Forza 3... maybe I should check out GT5 after all...

If you have a wheel, you cant go wrong with GT5!
