Microsoft of South Africa has just issued an update on why the local Xbox LIVE Marketplace is not as stocked as many Xbox 360 gamers would like it to be.
According to Microsoft, the local Marketplace is not being fully populated because “the problem lies in that our classification system is not PEGI as the rest of Europe is, we use FPB (Film & Publication board) to classify our games (eg. 18V, 13 etc) and because of this all the Arcade games need to be classified locally.”
“We are in the process of doing it – but it will take some time to get them all done. Keep checking back marketplace as more games become available.”
Microsoft also took the opportunity to explain that if you migrate your existing Xbox LIVE account to South Africa you’ll receive either 800 or 1600 MS Points based on your download history. However, be patient because “the points will take up to four weeks before they will appear in your account.”
