It recently came to the attention of consumer site Joystiq that copies of Dance Central, one of the headline games for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Kinect launch next week, have been recalled from retail warehouses in North America due to a misprint error in the manuals included with copies of the game.
New copies of Dance Central will be shipped to stores next week to coincide with the planned launch of Kinect, Xbox 360’s controller-free gaming device, on November 4th in the US.
Microsoft issued the following statement regarding the Dance Central recall:
“Microsoft has become aware that an update that needs to be made to the product manual (i.e. printed materials) included in the game entitled ‘Dance Central’ developed by MTV/Harmonix and distributed by Microsoft.
”To ensure we provide our customers with the best experience possible, Microsoft is updating the product manual and replacing all retail copies of Dance Central.
”Microsoft is working with retailers to update the product manuals and replace copies as quickly as possible. Most-if not all- impacted retail stores will have updated copies of Dance Central in time for the November 4, 2010 launch.
”As copies are not currently available to retail customers this announcement only affects retailers and distributors with product inventory.”
As one of the most important (if not the most important) game in Kinect’s launch line-up, it would be in Microsoft’s best interests to ensure Dance Central is definitely available at retail come November 4th, and the launch of Kinect.

While Kinect launches in North America on November 4th, the device will become available in Europe, the UK and South Africa on November 10th.
