Blur, Gears of War 2 and Red Dead Redemption get extra XP weekends

Level Up! - Image Found at www.l2gracia.ge Three incredible games are getting multiplayer experience boosts this weekend to celebrate Halloween, which means that if you play the respective games, you’ll be able to earn much more in-game XP than you would usually be able to do.

Let’s first take a look at Activision Blizzard and Bizarre Creation’s excellent Blur weekend event, which will offer double XP from now until the end of Sunday.

Blur

Starting today (October 29th) until the end of Sunday (October 31st), if you hop online and play Blur PS3 multiplayer, you’ll be able to rack up double the experience points of a regular competitive match! Dan Amrich at Activision writes:

“That means for every race, you get twice as many fans, which means ranking up twice as fast, filling your garage with gorgeous Corvettes and Elises and Vipers in record time.”

And then, if you happen to be racing during Saturday (7pm to 10pm in England, or 2pm to 5pm Eastern and 11am to 2pm Pacific), you’ll get the chance to race against developers from Bizarre Creations! Dan Amrich will be there too, so look out for the online ID OneOFSwords, and be sure to blast him off the track!

Gears of War 2

And what about Gears of War 2? While Blur may be offering a double XP weekend, Epic is offering a whopping 31x XP event! From a post on the official Gears of War website:

“Our favorite horror films leave little to the imagination. Psychological horror is cool and all, but we on Gears prefer to rock Halloween the old-fashioned way: running, screaming, and a bit of chainsaw-inspired terror. Sound like your kind of fun? Then join us for this weekend’s Gears 2 XP event! From October 29 through November 2, XP earned across all multiplayer modes skyrockets to 31 times the usual amount.

“We’re also shaking things up with a special chainsaw massacre edition of Horde—Lancer-only matches with no more chainsaw interrupts to save your enemies (or you!) from certain gory evisceration.”

Red Dead Redemption players, too, will get a double XP weekend this weekend, according to a Twitter tweet on Rockstar Games’ official account:

“RedDeadRedemption Halloween Double XP Weekend has officially begun on XBL & PSN. Lasts til Sunday night at midnight Eastern.”

Lots of multiplayer fun to be had this weekend then!
