Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Day One Studios’ horror-themed first-person shooter FEAR 3 was recently delayed into 2011 after it was originally meant to launch near the end of this year.
While no specific reason for given for the delay, we needn’t worry ourselves with such things anymore as the game has received a North American release date of late March, while a host of pre-order incentives across a range of retailers have also been announced.
Now scheduled to release on March 22nd in the US, you’ll be able to pre-order FEAR 3 through Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop (presumably all US locations at this time), and if you do, each retailer will offer up a little something different in terms of exclusive content and goodies. Here’s the list:
Amazon:
- A 12-page F.E.A.R. 3 comic book that acts a prequel to the game and takes place after the events of the original F.E.A.R. The story is written by Steve Niles, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele and published by D.C. Comics.
Best Buy:
- Exclusive access to The Shredder, a choice weapon for taking down rogue super soldiers. The gun fires heavy rounds with nitrates that acts “like a fire breathing dragon in your hand.”
Gamestop:
- Players will receive The Hammer, Paxton Fettel’s original sidearm. The gun packs .50 caliber rounds that do nearly twice the damage compared to a standard sidearm.
While we wait for an official UK and European release date for FEAR 3, you can browse through El33tonline’s previous looks at the game for batches of screenshots, more information, and bunches of gameplay videos and trailers.
