Who says South Africa gets left out when it comes to great videogame content? Nay not I, and with the news that the country is set to receive ‘Super Mario All-Stars – 25th Anniversary Edition’ for the Wii in December, nay not you either!
Wipe the sleep from your eyes, do that double-take, pinch yourself and forcefully eject whatever is in your mouth right now, because it was recently announced that South African gamers, too, will be able to get their hands on the classic Mario game collection, which includes Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, all on one disk.
Super Mario All-Stars – 25th Anniversary Edition will also include a special booklet containing the full history of Super Mario, as well as an audio CD with music from a range of Super Mario games that have been released over the last 25 years, with tracks from 1985’s Super Mario Bros. to 2010’s Super Mario Galaxy 2, as well as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.
And why exactly is this ‘25th anniversary’ edition releasing in the first place?
“In the quarter of a century since Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto’s team put the finishing touches to his first major adventure, Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Mario has become one of the most globally recognised characters in the world of entertainment.
“The Super Mario Bros. series is now the best-selling video game series of all time, with more than 240 million units sold globally.”

Awesome, that'll definitely fit in my Christmas stocking. Hopefully a red Wii will find its way in there as well....
Greedy guts! ;)
I'll have to... 'upgrade' my Christmas stocking to fit all of that business! Jolly St. Miyamoto can just leave them all at the bottom of the tree this year, I'm not fussy.
