According to a report on Reuters, Sony will officially drop the price of the company’s PSPgo handheld gaming device this month in Japan and the US, one year after the release of the console and just in time for the holiday season.
In the US, the price will be slashed to $199 from $249, and in Japan, the current price of 26 800 yen (roughly $335 at current exchange rates) will be dropped to 16 800 yen (roughly $210).
It will be incredibly interesting to see whether or not this price drop can have any affect on sales results for the PSPgo in Japan, where the device consistently sells under 2000 units per week compared to its older sibling, the regular PSP, which consistently sells over 30 000 units a week.
