Having already launched in North America on Tuesday, and releasing today in Europe, Bayonetta has been a part of gamer’s conversations for quite some time since its initial reveal towards the end of 2008, the release of the demo, and the game’s release in Japan last year in October.
From the looks of the released screenshots and trailers, Bayonetta looks an absolute riot, with the stylish melee and gunplay-based combat found in Devil May Cry, only taken to a completely different level of insanity, speed and raw ‘cool.’
To celebrate Bayonetta’s release in the West, SEGA and Platinum Games have released a launch trailer that simply cements prior conceptions surrounding the game, and also hints at some story elements. Watch below:
Also bubbling to the surface is a console comparison video for Bayonetta, contrasting in-game footage from the PS3 version of the game with that of the Xbox 360 version. Which version comes out on top, visually? Watch below to make up your mind:

Comments:
this is OLD "news". We already heard the tagline: "Game developed on the 360 plays good but plays Crappy on the PS3. Difficult Cell to blame." Tell us something we don't already know, please. This article and others like it are meant to deflate sales for PS3 multiplat games. This game was well under development before LEADING developers started lead development on the PS3. I'm a software developer and it's interesting how M$ deliberately made 360 code incompatible with non M$ hardware.
M$ launches 360 first. Devs bitched at first because it uses PPC. Devs got "Used to it" and thanked M$ for the "TOOLS". PS3 comes out. Sony thinks devs are "smart enough" to figure it out, like they did with the PS2. History doesn't repeat itself. Games developed for the 360 don't work on PS3, as designed/planned by M$'s history of anti-competitive behavior.
This game smacks of M$ bias. I played Bayonetta on my 360 and a Devil May Cry it is not, which actually was better on the PS3. Bayonetta = Devil May Cry with a crotch-shot high heel booty queen... sell sell sell to pubescent 14 year olds and 30 something "Comic Book Guy" types, so win for 360 population.
For someone who claims to be a software developer, therefore more intelligent and enlightened then the average pre-pubescent teen, you certainly talk in a similar vain as the very people you're incriminating.
As far as I can see, comparisons like this spark rivalry that in turn ignites competitiveness which will always result in higher standards from all parties concerned. If you consider some of the recent and upcoming releases on both platforms, Uncharted 2, Forza 3, GT5, Halo Reach just to mane a few, I believe it becomes clear that gamers can only benefit from all the techniques these companies utilise to get one up on their competitors.
So stop complaining and start enjoying!
