According to worldwide life-to-date sales data released by Nintendo earlier today, three of the publisher’s titles, namely Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, have all surpassed 10 million units sold for the period of April 1st 2009 to December 31st 2009.
Since its release in October last year, Wii Fit Plus has sold 10.1 million units, while Wii Sports Resort has moved 13.5 million copes since its launch in July last year.
Probably most impressive of all is New Super Mario Bros. Wii, having only launched in November last year, has sold 10.5 million units.
Other of Nintendo’s games to reach the multiple millions of units sold mark last year include the following:
- Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver – 3.74 million copies sold in Japan
- Pokemon Platinum – 3.1 million units worldwide
- The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – 2.45 million units worldwide
- Tomodachi Collection – 2.74 million units sold in Japan
