Nintendo reveals life-to-date console sales figures, market domination confirmed
Alongside life-to-date sales numbers for Nintendo’s slate of software, the publisher also released sales numbers for its Wii and DS consoles covering their respective life spans, as they racked up 67 million and 125 million units sold respectively, worldwide.
Those figures can be broken down by region, thus:
Japan:
- Wii – 9.7 million units
- DS – 29.9 million
Americas:
- Wii – 32 million
- DS – 45 million
Other Regions (Europe, etc)
- Wii – 25.7 million
- DS – 50 million
Worldwide hardware sales figures for Nintendo’s consoles for the period of April 1st to December 31st look like this:
- Wii – 17 million units (worldwide)
- Nintendo DS – 23.3 million (worldwide)
