The new PSP Kingdom Hearts title from Square Enix has debuted at number 1 on the Japanese software chart, the only new entry into the Top 30 this week. The latest Media Create figures show that Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep sold 446 000 copies for the week ending the 10th of January, although it was only on sale for just two days within this reporting period.
As a result New Super Mario Bros. Wii slips to number 2, although it continues to sell well with 159 000 copies. Friend Collection and Wii Fit Plus remain popular choices, with the DS title falling one place to number 3 with 94 000 copies and the fitness sequel climbing one spot to number 4 with 54 000 copies.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks drops two places to number 5 with 48 000 copies while Final Fantasy XIII also loses two spots to finish sixth with 42 000 copies. Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver is down one to seventh with 37 000 copies and Inazuma Eleven 2: Threat of the Invaders drops to number 8 with 37 000 copies.
Wii Sports Resort moves down to number 9 with 33 000 copies and Phantasy Star Portable 2 finishes at number 10 with 27 000 copies. Professor Layton and the Flute of Malevolent Destiny is the only title to be pushed out of the Top 10 this week, dropping to number 17.
