Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (sales down 41%), for an unbelievable 9th week in a row, has managed to remain at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales Chart, beating newcomers Bayonetta and Darksiders, as well as old timers Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus, to the No. 1 position.
Chart Track informs us that after eight weeks on sale (last week), Modern Warfare 2 is currently the UK’s 3rd biggest ever game in terms of unit sell-through, after Dr. Kawashima on DS (released in June of 2006) at No. 1, and GTA: San Andreas on PS2 (in November of 2004, then Xbox and PC in 2005).
This past week, however, Wii Fit Plus (sales down 43%) charts at No. 2 up from No. 5 last week, Just Dance (sales down 41%) moves up to No. 3 from No. 7, Wii Sports Resort (sales down 54%) is a non-mover at No. 4, and Bayonetta debuts at No. 5.
Fifa 10 sits tight at No. 6, Assassin’s Creed II slips down to No. 7 from No. 2 last week, Darksiders wades into the fray at No. 8 on its first week on sale, New Super Mario Bros. Wii steps down to No. 9 from No. 8, and James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game remains at No. 10.
