Nintendo’s Tomodachi Collection hangs on to its number 1 spot on the Japanese Software Chart for the week ending the 30th of August. The latest figures from Media Create show that the DS title sold 80 000 copies, reaching life-to-date sales just short of 1 million at 890 000 copies.
Dragon Quest IX has to content itself with second place again, selling 71 000 copies, while Wii Sports Resort climbs two places to number 3 with 46 000 copies. In case you didn’t notice it sales ticking over, the popular sequel to Wii Sports has now sold 1.085 million copies since its release in Japan.
New entries
Dream C Club from D3 Publisher gives the Xbox 360 a rare appearance in the Top 10, debuting at number 4 with 46 000 copies, while Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii drops two places to number 5 with 34 000 copies. Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny for the PSP is new at number 6 with 29 000 copies and another new Namco Bandai title, Super Robot Gakuen for the DS, debuts at number 7 with 28 000 copies.
Nintendo’s new DS title, You’ll Incur Losses if You Remain Ignorant, enters the charts in eighth place with 21 000 copies and Monster Hunter Portable 2G (Best) drops one spot to number 9 with 18 000 copies. Hakuouki: Zuisouroku for the PS2 is the fifth new entry in the Top 10 this week, debuting at number 10 with 17 000 copies.
Titles that fall out of the Top 10 this week include SD Gundam G Generation Wars for the PS2, Puyo Puyo 7 for the DS, Melty Blood: Actress Again and Okami Kakushi (at numbers 11, 12, 15 and 22 respectively). New entries in the Top 30 include Hakuoki Portable for the PSP, Nanashi no Game: Eye for the DS, Memories Off 6: Next Relation for the PS2, Ninja Clash: Tenchu San Portable for the PSP and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin for the PS3.
