A while back it was revealed that Infinity Ward wa working on the design of a set of console controllers themed after the developer’s upcoming behemoth of a game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Now we have some shots of them.
The specially designed controllers will offer all of the functionality of regular joypads, but with the addition of two, twin ‘combat buttons’ at the rear of the controller for custom keymapping, allowing you to access more functions than a normal controller would.
The controllers also have backlights around the base of the sticks, for special night-time gaming.
You know, that controller would go nicely with the Modern Warfare 2 limited edition Xbox 360 console …
The pair of controllers will be out after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on November 10th, with tentative release dates of November 16th for the Xbox 360 controller, and December 12th for the PS3 controller, although these are not confirmed at this time.
