Xbox 360 update is indeed live

Xbox 360 Logo The Xbox mouthpiece and general announcer, Major Nelson, fittingly announced a while ago that an incoming system update for your Xbox 360 would be available sometime in the next few hours.

That update is currently live, and is mandatory for those of you looking to use the Xbox LIVE service any time soon. What does the update do?

“There are no new features or changes in this update,” says the Major. “This update is preparation for additional system enhancements (Facebook/Twitter/Last.FM) that will arrive later this year.”

There were reports that this latest update has caused some issues with some Xbox 360 consoles, but those issues have since been resolved.

Brilliant. It's not like we'd get a proper changelog anyway. I like it when they say "yeah, we've applied a load of bug fixes and stuff this time" but they can't say what exactly those fixes are. Why is it ground breaking world news everytime M$ send out an update for 360 but no1 can offer a proper changelog?! God-blam-it!

Just installed the new update. Now NHL 10 won't boot up.
