Capcom has let the word out that Monster Hunter Tri for Wii, the latest entry to the epically successful Monster Hunter series of games, will be releasing in both North America and Europe in early 2010.
After shipping one million units for its release in Japan on August 1st, Westerners will be able to get their hands on the game which features some stunning-looking visuals, not only for a release on the Wii, but coming close to rivalling similar action RPG experiences on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (check out the latest Japanese trailer for Monster Hunter Tri to see for yourself).
The amazing environments form the backdrop for your monster hunting travels, exploring the landscape that contains a living, breathing ecosystem, “where man co-exists with fantastic beasts that roam both the land and the sea.” Sounds magical.
The visuals aren’t the only feature of Monster Hunter Tri, though, as the game includes an online and offline cooperative mode, with the ability to join online hunting parties with up to four players, or play with two players on a single TV.
Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Licensing, Steve Singer, said of the announcement:
“Fans of Nintendo and Monster Hunter are eagerly anticipating the launch of this title in the US, which will be the first time the series is available on a Nintendo home console.
“Having Capcom bring Monster Hunter Tri to the Wii console provides tremendous action, fun and entertainment to both veteran players and series newcomers alike.”
Visitors to GamesCom, the upcoming European gaming convention in Cologne, Germany taking place from August 12th to 23rd, will be able to sneak a glimpse at a sample of the localised version of Monster Hunter Tri at Capcom’s stands, making its debut appearance for a Western audience.
