After a bit of a dominant streak by Ashes Cricket 2009, remaining at the top of the UK’s All Formats Software Sales chart for a number of weeks, the title of No. 1 on the chart has been passed on to Wii Sports Resort (sales down 12%), up to the top spot from No. 2 last week.
This means that last week’s debut title, Wolfenstein, has to remain content in sitting at No. 2 this week in its first week on sale, being outsold by Sports Resort by 2000 copies, although the first-person shooter did take the No. 1 spot in the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 sales chart.
The previously mentioned Ashes Cricket 2009 (sales down 56%) stumbles a little way to No. 3 this week from No. 1, as Wii Fit (sales down 8%) continues to hang around in the Top Ten at No. 4, down from No. 3 last week. Can it still manage to make its way to No. 1 and break the record for most weeks at the top?
Call of Duty: World at War (sales up 36%) moves up two from No. 7 last week to No. 5, whilst Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (sales down 26%) moves down two places to No. 6 this week from No. 4. Mario Kart Wii, on the other hand, only slips down one place to No. 7 from No. 6 last week.
The fortunes of two of EA’s titles are a little mixed this week, as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (sales down 24%) slides down to No. 8 from No. 5, while Fight Night Round 4 (sales down 5%) steps back into the Top Ten, up to No. 9 from No. 12 last week. Prototype (sales down 10%) also manages to steal its way into the Top Ten once more, charting at No. 10 this week from No. 11.
Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes LEGO Batman shooting up No. 12 this week from No. 20, Madden NFL 10 (sales down 43%) dropping to No. 20 from No. 8 last week, G-Force falling out of the Top Ten to No. 13 from No. 9, Assassin’s Creed re-entering the sales chart at No. 24, Guitar Hero: On Tour pulling the same trick and charting at No. 28, as Dead Space (No. 35) SEGA Superstars Tennis (No. 39) and Saints Row 2 (No. 40) get the same idea.
