It’s been announced that a new entry to the historical Earthworm Jim series of platform games will be making its way onto downloadable game services Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and WiiWare, as well as mobile platforms, via the combined efforts of developers Gameloft and a licensing agreement with Interplay.
“The game, with its humorous and edgy style,” said senior vice president at Gameloft, Gonzague de Vallois, “is a great fit for today’s gamer who craves a fully immersive experience that is fun and easily accessible. We look forward to delivering a fantastic game.”
The older Earthworm Jim’s are described as “a popular run and gun platform video game featuring an earthworm who dresses up in a Super Suit to fight evil.” Quite right. The new Earthworm Jim, though, will be available in the last quarter of the year, as the Xbox LIVE Arcade version is set to enjoy a month of exclusivity.
Groovy. Dave Perry, the original creator of Earthworm Jim, however, must be spinning in his G(rave)aikai.
