Star Wars beefs up Wii VC line-up

Star Wars LogoStar Wars fans rejoice because Nintendo will be releasing multiple LucasArts Super Nintendo games on to the Wii’s Virtual Console this month.

Super Star Wars is the first to arrive, followed by Super Stars Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in the coming weeks. Each of the games will cost 800 Wii Points.

To celebrate Wii owners will be challenged to submit their best Mii character renditions of Star Wars characters in the Check Mii Out Channel. Gamers can also settle various disputes by voting in the Everybody Votes Channel. Nintendo also promised that additional classic LucasArts games for Virtual Console will be announced in the future.

“Our expanded partnership with LucasArts brings the Star Wars and Nintendo universes together,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “These three Super Star Wars games represent fantastic additions to the growing Virtual Console library, and the exclusive Star Wars content on the other Wii Menu channels is sure to have people from different generations having fun and interacting with one another.”
