Developer Team 17 (of Worms fame) has announced that a remake of Alien Breed is on the way as a download-only project.

Titled Alien Breed Evolution, the game promises to be an Unreal 3 powered next-gen title that will help to “raise the production of download-only titles” and a “drop-dead gorgeous retro-modern remake” of the original Alien Breed which was released in 1991.

Alien Breed Evolution will feature an “action packed, tense single player adventure and an absolute blast of a co-op game.”

Team 17 promises video footage, more screenshots and platform confirmations over the next few weeks so stay tuned. Until then check out the first screenshots of the game below.
