Square Enix expect 5 mil copies of Dragon Quest IX to be shipped
Dragon Quest IX sold 2.3 million copies in its launch week in Japan. Square Enix shipped 3 million copies at launch to make sure that gamers could get their hands on the latest addition to the hugely popular Dragon Quest franchise.
Since then the publisher’s president Yoichi Wada told Japanese press “We’re look at reaching over 5 million copies of Dragon Quest IX shipped” and that he hopes this will breathe life into the entire Japanese game industry which has been flagging this year.
It just may have that effect should Wada’s predictions, that it may be possible to ship ten million copies of Dragon Quest IX, come true.
