During the course of the Nintendo press event hosted by Core on Wednesday, members of South African news outlets were able to get their mitts on a playable version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the next 2D platformer in the long history of Mario games, only this time with a little something extra.
That something extra would be the addition of multiplayer, allowing four players to run around on the same level at the same time, either competing for coins and power-ups, or working together to progress through the level. You can also play through the levels on your own, but after the fun we had playing with four players, it looks like singleplayer Mario games are a thing of the past.
