Nintendo revealed quite a few new games at their E3 press conference last night. In addition to New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Metroid: Other M, the publisher also announced Super Mario Galaxy 2.

This 3D platforming adventure marks the first time a second 3D Mario game has arrived in the same console generation.

Details of the title are still scarce, but we do know that Mario rides Yoshi to new stars and worlds in the new game. The title promises new challenges in the style which was introduced in the original.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be available for the Wii in 2010.
