Chart Track UK Software Sales for week ending 27/06: Fight Night Round 4 jabs to the top

Fight Night Round 4, a title that debuted on the UK Software Sales Chart last week, has managed to punch its way to the No. 1 spot on the listing this week, which marks the first time a boxing game has ever reached this position in the UK.

As a result, Prototype has had to step down to No. 2 from No. 1 last week, as The Sims 3 is also forced to take a knock down to No. 3 this week from No. 2. Wii Fit, still hanging tough, also only has to take a small walk, this week down to No. 4 from No. 3 last week.

UFC 2009: Undisputed, meanwhile, manages to jump up to No. 5 this week from No. 7, while Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen also debuts alongside Fight Night, only having to settle for No. 6 on the chart this week. Call of Duty: World of War gets a little confused with all of the new titles and falls down to No. 7 from No. 5 last week, essentially swapping places with UFC 2009.

Virtua Tennis 2009, likely on the back of the on-going Wimbledon tennis tournament, still hangs on in the Top Ten and places itself at No. 8 from No. 9 last week, while EA Sports Active swaps places and ends up at No. 9 this week from No. 8. Last week’s debut title, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, just clinches a placement at No. 10 to round out the list of Top Ten charters.

Other interesting movement on the chart this week includes Red Faction: Guerrilla tumbling to No. 13 from No. 6 last week, Fifa 09 moving down to No. 15 from No. 12 last week, the debut of Overlord II at No. 17, another debut title in the form of Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits at No. 18, Pokemon Platinum dropping to No. 19 this week from No. 16, inFamous continuing its downward spiral at No. 21 from No. 18 last week, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings at No. 22 from No. 13, the debut of Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite at No. 25 (but No. 1 on the PSP chart), Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires debuting at No. 31, Resident Evil 5 stumbling to No. 32 from No. 20 last week, and Tales of Vesperia debuting at No. 38.
