The latest word from developer Team 17 is that Worms 2: Armageddon will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade next week Wednesday, the 1st of July. It will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

Based on the popular Worms Armageddon which was released in 1999, Worms 2: Armageddon will include new weapons (for example, the Electro Magnet, Bunker Buster and Buffalo of Lies) as well as cult favourites from Armageddon (such as the Super Sheep, Holy Hand Grenade and Napalm).

Players will be able to enjoy new gameplay levels including five new landscapes modeled on the original Armageddon style (including Medieval Cheese, Cheese Moon and Construction Site), 130 base landscape styles, vertical levels and mix combinations of these in their own created levels.

The publisher also promises improved game physics, extensive customization of Worms teams, new singleplayer modes, new achievements and leaderboards as well as tons of game options.
