Yesterday Namco Bandai Games released new screenshots for their upcoming fighter Tekken 6 and detailed the game’s Scenario Campaign Mode. Now the publisher has revealed two pre-order campaigns for the US and confirmed the release date for the game.
The Tekken 6 Wireless Fight Stick Bundle will be available at retailers nationwide. Retailing at $149.99, it will include a copy of the game, a HORI wireless fight stick and a detailed art book.
If you pre-order Tekken 6 from GameStop you will receive a 2009-2010 Tekken 6 collectable calendar as well as downloadable content designed by webcomic Penny Arcade. But hurry, because both of these pre-order bonuses will only be available while stocks last!
The downloadable Penny Arcade Samurai Pack is inspired by the alter-ego of Penny Arcade character Jonathan ‘Gabe’ Gabriel and will allow warrior Yoshimitsu to don the outfit of the Cardboard Tube Samurai. Players will also be able to customize the 40 fighters in the game using the limited edition Samurai Battle Banners found in the pack.
Destructible environments and Scenario Campaign Mode
The cast of Tekken 6 includes familiar faces and new characters, who together create the largest line-up in the franchise’s history. The game also boasts a real-time motion blur effect which is said to “provide the richest visuals the series has ever seen.” In addition, the dynamic, destructible environments will allow players to kick their enemies through floors or punch their enemies through walls, opening up a whole new battlefield.
Players will also be able to battle online or try out the new Scenario Campaign Mode where they will be introduced to a hybrid control system that combines conventional fighting game controls with free movement. According to Namco Bandai, “This system allows them to progress through the story and mow down hordes of enemies while still enjoying fighting game action either alone or cooperatively online. For the first time in the series, players will have an arsenal of staffs, machine guns, flame throwers, and even giant robots at their disposal.”
Tekken 6 will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 across North America on the 27th of October. The game will arrive in Europe, Japan and Asia “shortly thereafter” and is scheduled to be released on the PSP this fall, featuring additional stages, content, items as well as an ad-hoc multiplayer mode.
