Activision Publishing and developers Treyarch have confirmed that Call of Duty: World at War will be receiving its second map pack this coming June, and will contain three new multiplayer maps and one new Nazi Zombie map. Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia said:
“Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 underscores Treyarch’s commitment to delivering ongoing support, and new multiplayer and co-op Zombie gameplay experiences for our players.
“Our community has been outstanding and has driven support for Map Pack 1, as well as demand for additional downloadable content like Map Pack 2.”
The three multiplayer maps will see players fighting for control of a river bridge (in a map called Banzai), scrapping it out with the opposition in a Russian train yard (in a map by the name of Corrosion), and struggling to control an old bombed-out submarine base (in a close-quarters map known as Sub Pens).
The new Nazi Zombie map, entitled Shi No Numa (or Zombie Swamp) will see “Imperial Zombies rise from misty swamps in an all new co-op experience,” in a level that features “traps, flaming Hell Hounds, Perk machines and the deadly, new Wunderwaffe DG-2,” as well as ten additional Xbox 360 Achievements/PS3 Trophies to earn.
