It’s been announced that EA’s in-house development studio, EA Redwood Shores, and developer of the recent Dead Space and the upcoming Dante’s Inferno, has been renamed to Visceral Games, in order to “better reflect the studio’s culture, identity and focus on creating intense action-oriented intellectual properties.”
Visceral Games will remain as part of the EA Games Label, and is led by the studio’s Vice President and General Manager Glen Schofield, and directed by Senior Vice President Nick Earl. Schofield said of the renaming:
“Action, intensity, excellence. It isn’t just in our DNA, it’s in our blood. For the past two years, we have adopted a new culture that prizes excellence above all else. Primal action is the beating heart of the studio and now our new name reflects that.”
Visceral Games is currently working on Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii, the previously mentioned Dante’s Inferno, as well as two unannounced titles.
