There’s just no stopping Nintendo’s Wii Fit, as it manages to hold on to the No. 1 spot in the UK Software Sales Chart for the 5th week in a row, as X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuts at No. 2.
Wolverine does manage to top the Xbox 360 and PS3 charts this week, though, with 51% of sales recorded on the Xbox 360, 39% of sales recorded on the PS3, and the rest going to the other platforms (PS2, PSP, Wii, DS and PC).
Fifa 09, however, manages a 28% sales boost, swiftly moving itself up to No. 3 from No. 4 last week, while Wii Play (sales up 47%) and Mario Kart Wii (sales up 15%) both move up a few spaces, as Wii Play hits No. 4 this week from No. 8, and Mario Kart Wii manages a placement at No. 6 from No. 7 last week.
Resident Evil 5 is a non-mover at No. 5 (sales down by 2%), while The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (sales down 31%) slips down to No. 7 from No. 2 last week, and The Godfather II (sales down 22%) moves down to No. 8 this week from No. 3. Tut tut.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village (static sales) moves down to No. 9 this week from No. 6, and Call of Duty: World at War (sales up by 5%) moves a space down to No. 10 from No. 9 last week, which is quite remarkable considering the title has never slipped out of the UK Top Ten since it was launched 25 weeks ago.
Other interesting movement on the UK Software Sales Chart this week includes Street Fighter IV (sales up 97%) leaping up to No. 11 this week from No. 25, Killzone 2 surging up to No. 15 from No 21 last week, Sonic Unleashed trampling the competition by moving up No. 21 this week from No. 40, SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection falling down to No. 23 from No. 15, Halo Wars (sales up 75%) making a chart re-entry at No. 25, Mario Kart DS moving up to No. 29 this week from No. 39, Monsters VS Aliens tumbling down to No. 33 from No. 23 last week, and Wheelman stumbling to No. 35 this week from No. 22.
